Instagram’s Threads app, which is similar to Twitter, is starting to look more like the app X. Threads recently added trending topics, an in-app camera, drafts. Now users can bookmark posts to save for later instead of just liking them.
How does the new Bookmark feature work?
With this update, Threads users can bookmark or “save” any post they see. This saves it privately to their account so they can find it again later. To do it, just tap the three dot menu under a post and select “Save”.
Your saved posts will be waiting in the app’s Settings screen when you want to look at them again. This lets you easily collect articles you want to read later or important information without it being public like a like or reaction.
The bookmark icon is hidden in the three dot menu instead of at the bottom of posts like on X. But Instagram is rolling it out gradually so not all Threads users have it yet. Things like trends are also being added piece by piece.
This helps Threads grow by copying useful features from competitors. Users have also spotted Facebook notifications and cross-posting between Facebook and Threads being tested. So Threads is shaping up to be a one-stop social app like X with the option to bookmark favorite posts for later reference!
