Oops! Showing Stolen Code on a Video Call Gets Nvidia in Trouble

It must have been super embarrassing for Mohammad Moniruzzaman when he showed a secret code from his old company during an online meeting with them. Moniruzzaman used to work for Valeo, a company that makes car technology. He downloaded all of Valeo’s code and documents before leaving to join Nvidia.

Nvidia is trying to build software for self-driving cars. In 2022, both Nvidia and Valeo were working together on parking assistance for cars. But during a video call for the project, Moniruzzaman accidentally showed the Valeo code on his screen! Everyone from Valeo saw this and took a picture. Oops!

It turns out Moniruzzaman took a lot of secret Valeo stuff. The police found paperwork and pictures from Valeo on his walls at home! They also found the files on his Nvidia computer. When asked, Moniruzzaman admitted to taking the Valeo software.

Now Valeo is suing Nvidia. They say Nvidia saved money by using the stolen code, even if they say they don’t want it. And it would be hard to remove fully if other Nvidia employees saw it too. Valeo wants money from Nvidia and to stop them from using the secret information.

A trial date has not been set yet. Both companies are staying quiet while the case continues. This video call mistake certainly caused big problems for Moniruzzaman and may affect Nvidia too!
