It seems like X, formerly known as Twitter, has been working hard on improving the video and broadcasting experience on the platform. In a recent post, they outlined several new features and upgrades shipped to both mobile and web.

Longer video uploads are now possible with Premium subscribers able to post videos up to 2 hours at 1080p quality or 3 hours at 720p. The media studio is also available to all Premium users, allowing advanced video editing and uploads.

Additionally, users can download videos from their timelines directly to the device camera roll. An option to enable/disable downloads has also been added for posted videos. Popular videos will now have auto-captioning for improved accessibility.

AirPlay support lets iOS users stream videos directly to supported TVs on the same WiFi network. Picture-in-picture playback allows continuing to browse X while playing videos in a small floating window. Video controls for playback speed and jumps are also introduced.

Live broadcasting quality from mobile apps sees upgrades. The Android and iOS video players get swipe up functionality for quick playback of following videos. Web users can also speak and co-host Live Audio Spaces now. Billions of participants are supported for Live Spaces as well.

It’s great to see X focusing on expansive video options like these. The updates should enhance sharing and consume of visual content on the platform going forward.
