Google Makes Contact Widget more Colorful

Earlier this year, Google introduced an Android widget called Individual Contact that showed contacts in a neat way. Now they have updated it to be even brighter!

In the smallest widgets that take up 1 or 2 home screen spaces, it just displays a round profile photo. The 3-space widget becomes a circle shape that adds quick buttons to call or text. When you make it 4 or 5 spaces, it shows the contact’s name too.

Before, shapes like circles and buttons looked quite plain. Now, after the update, they fit better with Google’s colorful theme called Material You. You can change the colors of your phone to personalize it, and the widget changes along with it!

If you make the widget taller, the name moves to the top left. The call and text buttons stay on the bottom. When you make it wider, the colorful buttons shift to the bottom right for easy tapping. It can even take up your whole home screen if you need it.

To pick a different contact, just press and hold on the widget, then tap the pencil icon. The update is rolling out now in the latest version of the Google Contacts app.

Google has been adding new features to Contacts regularly. This widget update makes it more fun while still keeping contact information quick to see. Give the new colorful Contact widget a try on your Android device today!
