We’ve heard a lot of rumors over the past few months about Samsung’s next “fan edition” phone. Now we finally seem to have all the important details about the Galaxy S23 FE thanks to a new report.
The leak suggests the S23 FE will have a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen that can refresh between 60 and 120 times per second for smooth scrolling and viewing. It’s also expected to get very bright, reaching up to 1450 nits for comfortable outdoor use. This lines up with an earlier leak from August, which shared most specs except the brightness.
Under the hood, the phone will likely use Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip in North America. Other regions may get Samsung’s own Exynos chip. It’s said to pair this with 8GB of fast RAM and a choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage.
For photos, a 50-megapixel main camera is tipped along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide and 8-megapixel 3x telephoto zoom lens. Selfies should come from a 10-megapixel front-facing camera. Both fronts and backs will use strong Gorilla Glass with IP68 water and dust protection too. The rumor also mentions 25W wireless charging support.
Samsung may offer the S23 FE in four classic colors: white, black,purple,e and green. However, some sources say there are five shades, including blue and orange, exclusive to Samsung stores. Most exciting of all, this leak says the phone will launch on October 4th at a very reasonable $599 price. Just in time to compete with Google’s rumored $699 Pixel 8 later in 2023.
