Perhaps you’ve heard of Grok, X’s answer to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Basically, it is a chatbot that answers questions about current events, pop culture, etc. However, Grok features “a bit of wit,” as Elon Musk describes it, as well as “a rebellious streak.” Grok is different because it can talk about things that other chatbots avoid, like politics and conspiracy theories. It also doesn’t mind using bad words when talking.
Grok was created by Elon Musk’s company, xAI. They spent months training it using data from the internet and feedback from human teachers. Grok is almost as smart as other popular chatbots. It can have funny conversations and give sassy responses if you want.
To use Grok, you need an X account. You also need to pay $16 per month for the best subscription plan on X. Then you can find Grok in the menu on the X app or website. Unlike other chatbots, you can only access Grok through X.
Grok can answer many types of questions, but it doesn’t understand pictures, videos or sounds. It also won’t help with unsafe or illegal topics. Elon Musk plans to add new skills over time through software updates.
Grok has two modes: fun mode and normal mode. In fun mode, Grok uses more casual language and jokes around. It may even “roast” you by teasing you about your X profile! Normal mode is more straightforward with fewer mistakes.
