Threads Gets Two New Features to Help You Share Easily

Threads, the messaging app from Instagram, just added the ability to save draft posts and take photos right from the app. A few weeks ago, Threads started letting some users try these features. Now everyone can use them.

Adam Mosseri, who runs Instagram, said the drafts and camera features are here to make sharing quick and simple. You can write a post and save it to finish later, instead of posting right away. Or snap a photo in Threads instead of using your regular camera app first.

Threads is now more like Twitter in this way. On Twitter, you’ve always been able to save draft tweets and take photos with a tap. But Threads only lets you have one draft at a time, while Twitter allows multiple.

To save a draft in Threads, write your post and swipe up on the screen. Later,, you can come back and share it or edit it more. Taking photos is easy too; just tap the camera button to snap away. Then choose to post or retake the shot.

These new additions help Threads compete with Twitter. Researchers also noticed Twitter may copy how Threads shows picture posts in a scrolling row instead of a grid. Only time will tell if more people pick threads over Twitter now that it’s easier than ever to share on the go!
