MacPaw to Launch New Setapp App Store in Europe This April

Prior to the release of iOS 17.4 in March, MacPaw has announced plans to offer an alternative app marketplace in the EU. The company plans to launch Setapp Mobile in the EU in April as a beta version. Setapp Mobile will give users in Europe access to new apps beyond the regular App Store.

MacPaw is best known for its Setapp subscription service on Mac computers. For just $9.99 per month, Setapp gives Mac users access to lots of helpful apps. Now with changes coming in iOS 17.4, MacPaw can offer something similar for iPhones in Europe.

Setapp Mobile will have different types of apps available at launch:

  • Productivity apps like calendars, scheduling tools and more to help you get things done.
  • Creative apps for photos, documents and design.
  • Lifestyle apps for news, notes, habits and more personal stuff.
  • Utility apps to make sharing, payments and organizing ideas easier.
  • Specialized professional tools for work like document search, databases, and other job tasks.

Developers can apply now on MacPaw’s website to bring their apps to Setapp Mobile. iPhone users in Europe can also sign up early to get access once it launches. More details will come from MacPaw about the marketplace and how developers can participate.

Other companies like Epic Games plan to offer app stores for Europe too. But MacPaw looks to be first with a specific launch date. Only time will tell if users in Europe embrace new app options beyond the regular App Store.
