Instagram Helps More Brands And Creators Do Business Together

Instagram announced today that it is making its tool for connecting brands with influencers available in more countries. The tool, called the Instagram Marketplace, will now help brands and creators do partnerships in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Japan, India, and Brazil.

The Marketplace lets brands find and work with social media stars to promote their products or services. Creators can also use it to find paid sponsorship opportunities from big companies. Instagram first tested the Marketplace in the United States and has since helped thousands of brands and influencers work together.

The company said it will invite influencers and marketers in the new countries to join the Marketplace over the next few weeks. Once on board, creators can highlight their content and interests to match with suitable brand deals. Brands get matched with relevant influencers through Instagram’s algorithm. They can also search manually and filter results by things like an influencer’s audience.

Creators see all requests and messages from potential brand partners in a new “Partnership messages” folder on Instagram. They can check deal details right in the app. Other social apps like Snapchat, YouTube, and TikTok also have creator marketplaces.

Startups are also entering this space. Some help brands find influencer content to license. Others give YouTubers a platform to sell ad slots in their videos. Record labels also use marketplaces to connect musicians with influencers for promotions.

By making the Marketplace global, Instagram aims to help more businesses and influencers strike lucrative sponsorship deals around the world.
