Google Maps for Android Now Shows the Weather Just Like on iPhone!

The Android version of Google Maps borrows a handy feature from its iOS counterpart. With the latest update to the Android app, you will now be able to see the weather while using maps. In the top left corner, below the search bar, a small box will display the current temperature, weather conditions, and air quality index (AQI) for the area visible on the map.

As you pan and zoom around the map, the weather information in this box will change to match the location. If you tap it, a card pops up with more details like today’s high and low, hourly forecast, and an air quality map. You get a handy at-a-glance view of the weather no matter where you browse on Maps.

Until now, only iPhone users could see weather overlays in Google Maps. But now Android owners can enjoy this convenient feature too after updating to the latest version. The small widget blends seamlessly into the Maps interface, making weather data easily accessible without disrupting your navigation or searching.

Getting a quick check of the temperature or seeing rain clouds approaching is as simple as glancing at the top left corner. Whether you’re planning your day or daydreaming about destinations, Google Maps’ new weather overlay for Android delivers relevant forecasts right on the map. So update your app today to experience iPhone-like weather widgets directly in Google Maps, wherever you are!
