All you need to know about Apple ipad Mini (7th Gen)

The small but mighty iPad mini has been around for years. The current 6th generation iPad mini got a complete redesign in 2021. Now rumors are swirling about the iPad mini 7th Gen. Here is what we might see:

When will it launch?

Most rumor point to a 2023 or 2024 launch. The iPad mini has an unpredictable release schedule. The latest would launch around September to October, to match previous launch schedules. But some say shipping may not start until late 2023 or mid 2024.

Will the design change?

Probably not much. The 2021 redesign was a big one. Reports say Apple will likely just give it a processor upgrade. However, we may see some new color options.

Will the processor be upgraded?

Yes! The current A15 chip is getting older. The iPad mini 7 will likely get either the newer A16 or A17 chip, or an M series chip like the iPad Air and Pro have. This will boost performance and efficiency.

Will the display change?

Unlikely. Expect an 8.3 inch Liquid Retina LCD with the same 2268×1488 resolution. Rumors of a 120Hz Pro Motion display seem unlikely due to technology constraints.

Will the price change?

Probably not much. The current iPad mini starts at $499. Even with a processor upgrade, Apple is likely to keep around the same price.

The iPad mini 7 seems poised to be an incremental upgrade focused on a better processor and some minor changes. But the small size, big power and affordable price will keep the iPad mini sticking around for those who want Apple’s smallest tablet. We’ll know more as we get closer to an official launch.
