When Can We Use Sora AI Video Maker? Soon!

Earlier this year, ChatGPT creator OpenAI demonstrated its new text-to-video generative AI model, Sora. The AI tool was only available to red team members at the time. However, it seems the company is planning to publicly launch the tool pretty soon.

OpenAI says Sora will be ready for everyone soon!

OpenAI’s top technology expert Mira Murati recently talked to The Wall Street Journal newspaper. She said the Sora AI video maker should be available for everyone “later this year.” This could be in just a few months!

Murati also mentioned that OpenAI wants people to be able to edit the videos Sora creates. In the future, they plan to add sound too, so Sora videos will have audio.

Sora is expensive to use but should be affordable

It costs a lot more money to run Sora than other AI models. But OpenAI wants to keep the price similar to their DALL-E image maker. DALL-E is priced so most people can afford to use it.

OpenAI trained Sora using online videos and photos

To be smart, Sora had to learn from existing media. Murati confirmed it likely used videos from YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Sora also used images from Shutterstock, which OpenAI works with. But Murati couldn’t share all the specific websites and content Sora studied.

Will Sora videos spread misinformation?

OpenAI hopes watermarks on Sora videos will stop fakes. The AI probably can’t make videos of real people either. Only time will tell if these limits work! Overall, an exciting new AI tool will soon be in the hands of creators everywhere – if they use it wisely!
