Nest Aware Prices Going Up in Canada and Japan Too

Google’s Nest Aware subscription service, which gives extra features for security cameras, is now costing more money in other countries besides the US. Canada and Japan are seeing price increases starting soon.

Last year, Google raised the prices for Nest Aware in America. Now, people using it in Canada and Japan are getting emails saying they will pay higher prices too beginning in March.

In Canada, the basic Nest Aware plan goes from 10 Canadian dollars a month to 12 Canadian dollars a month. Or you can pay 100 Canadian dollars for a whole year, up from $80. This gives you video recordings of events for 30 days and smart alerts. The Nest Aware Plus plan goes from 16 Canadian dollars a month to 20 Canadian dollars or $200 for a year instead of $160. Plus gives you 60 days of event videos and 10 days of non-stop 24/7 recordings.

In Japan, regular Nest Aware goes from 6,300 yen a year to 8,000 yen. Nest Aware Plus rises to 15,000 yen annually from the previous price.

If you use the old version 1 of Nest Aware, the annual fees are increasing a lot too, from 50 Canadian dollars to 100 Canadian dollars for the lowest tier in Canada.

Google is making Nest Aware pricier abroad too after raising prices at home in the US last year. Customers outside America will start paying the new higher rates with their next monthly or annual bill after March 25.

The price hikes mean Canadians and Japanese will have to pay more to keep getting the extra storage and smart features through Nest Aware. Was your subscription worth it at the lower cost? Only you can decide if it’s still a good value after the price increase.
