Google Messages Update Will Make Photo Captions Easier

Google Messages is getting a small but helpful update for RCS chats. Soon, people will be able to add captions when sharing pictures in their RCS conversations, according to the tech website Assemble Debug.

Right now, sending a photo and text in an RCS chat is tricky. The picture and words get sent as two separate messages instead of together. This new update will fix that problem by letting you add a caption to any photos before sending. The caption will appear under the picture for both the sender and receiver to see.

It’s a minor adjustment but an important one. Having the photo and caption joined together will improve the chat experience. No more mixed-up order of photos and words. The screenshots from Assemble Debug show what the photo captions will look like – the text will be right below the picture in the message.

Google Messages is also getting other upgrades soon that were previously only in beta testing. Things like Magic Compose, Photomoji and Voice Moods will go public. Google also seems ready to launch “Bard chats” which let people start RCS conversations about common interests through the app. Bard can help write messages, translate languages and identify photos on Google Messages.

All in all, the photo caption addition and other changes coming to Google Messages should create a smoother communication experience between Android users. The little things matter, and this is a little thing that could make a difference.
