Coming Soon: Use Your Voice to Help Gmail’s AI Draft Emails

Gmail is one of the best email apps for Android. A lot of credit goes to the fact that the app is preloaded on a large number of Android phones sold globally, but also to the app itself, which is quite good. With Help Me Write, Google is upgrading Gmail’s experience, so you can easily draft emails using artificial intelligence. For now, users must enter written prompts for the AI to work with, but this may change in the future.

According to the latest info, Gmail is working on allowing voice input for the AI prompts. Soon you won’t need to type out what you want the email to be about. Instead, simply speak the prompt and the AI will compose an email based on what you said.

Testers have seen screenshots showing how the new feature works. When composing an email, a big microphone button appears for voice dictation. Speak your prompt, hit “Create”, and the AI gets to work drafting the message for you. The voice typing stays within the Gmail app too, so you don’t need special keyboard features.

Right now this voice drafting is only available for some Workspace users in the US using English. But it looks like the feature will eventually come to more Gmail users. With Help Me Write and voice prompts, composing emails with Gmail may get quicker and easier than ever! Android users will be excited to try this new effortless way to let AI handle email messages.
