Get Better Chrome Search Suggestions Even Without Internet

As part of its mobile Chrome update, Google advertises “improved on-device capabilities” that will allow search suggestions “even if you have a bad network connection.” Incognito Mode also benefits from these “more helpful suggestions.” The new features will help you find what you’re looking for, whether you’re online or offline.

Google is updating Chrome search suggestions to be more useful. Now when you search on your phone or tablet’s browser, you will see recommended search terms. These “search suggestions” pull from your previous searches to guide you to related topics. The nice part is they will still show up even if your internet connection is slow or gone completely.

You’ll get search suggestions from things you looked up recently. For example, if you searched for “pizza places near me”, it might suggest other restaurants close by. The suggestions come from your device’s memory instead of needing internet access. This means you have an easier time browsing on a Chrome mobile, even without WiFi or a mobile connection.

In addition to working offline, search suggestions also now function within Incognito mode. This private browsing feature usually doesn’t remember your activity. But the updated helpful suggestions will still point you towards related topics based on what you looked at last.

Google is making search suggestions on Chrome show more pictures too. In the past, images only appeared for specific shopping products. Now photos will also accompany broader categories. This gives you a visual to click into suggested items.

The search bar on Chrome for desktop will now have a “People also search for” section. After searching one thing, it lists other common related terms. Finding related topics is quicker than starting over with a new search each time.

All in all, the updated Chrome search improvements mean better recommendations whether you have an internet connection or want privacy. Suggestions draw from your device’s memory to help guide further exploration of topics you’ve shown interest in already.
