Fix the Annoying CAT Error in Destiny 2

It is common for players to encounter the Destiny 2 CAT error, which prevents them from playing the game. Fortunately, there are a few fixes for this issue.

The CAT error usually happens when your game is not updated. Your game needs the latest patch to work properly. The error can happen if an update download stops because of a bad internet connection. You may also see this error if you try to play after a long time away – your game probably just needs an update!

There are some easy things you can try to fix the CAT error. First, always restart your game and console before trying anything else. Sometimes just restarting is all it takes.

If that doesn’t work, you need to check your game files. On Steam, right-click on Destiny 2 in your library, click properties, then “verify integrity of game files.” This will check all your game files and fix or download anything that is missing. For the Epic Games version, click the three dots next to the game, choose manage, and then verify.

On consoles, make sure to install all available game and system updates. You can also try restarting your console fully by unplugging the power cord for a few minutes. Reinstalling the game as a last resort can sometimes fix the issue too.

Don’t forget that the helpful Bungie support team wants to help players. Reach out to them if the error persists after trying these fixes. With some troubleshooting, you’ll be back into the action in no time!
