Are Brighter Big Screen Dreams in Our Future With Xgimi’s New Projectors?

In addition to its brightest 4K smart projector yet, Xgimi has released a 3-in-1 unit that’s also a ceiling light and Bluetooth speaker. Google TV is available on both long-throw projectors.

The top model is the Xgimi Horizon Max. It promises to produce very bright images with 3,100 lumens of light. While Xgimi overstated brightness before, this projector is certified as IMAX Enhanced. That means it can properly display high-quality movies from services like Disney+.

Beyond brightness, the Horizon Max has a great contrast ratio and DTS sound. Automatic features adjust the projected image no matter where you point it. You can even save different display settings depending on the wall or room.

The other new device is the Xgimi Aladdin. Unlike typical projectors, this unit attaches directly to your ceiling light fixture. It then projects video onto the ceiling or walls from there. Helpfully, the Aladdin is also a Bluetooth speaker and can control your room lights.

Both projectors run on Google TV instead of Android TV. That makes popular apps like Netflix much simpler to access right away. Pricing details are still to come, but the powerful Horizon Max should cost under $3,000 when it becomes available late next year.
