The Google Home app teased an “All-in-one subscription” back in October, which included Nest Aware and Google One. There are new strings today that provide more details about this upcoming feature. Google is planning to add Nest Aware to the Google One subscription.
Google found new details in the code for the Google Home app version 3.13. The code says Nest Aware will be part of your Google One subscription. This means you won’t have to pay for Nest Aware separately anymore if you have a Google One subscription.
The main benefits of Nest Aware are video history of events and smart alerts. It looks like with a Google One subscription you will get the basic Nest Aware plan. This plan now costs $8 per month or $80 per year. It gives you 30 days of video history of events caught on your Nest cameras.
You may also be able to add more video storage through Google One. The better Nest Aware Plus plan usually costs $15 per month or $150 per year. It gives you 60 days of event video history and up to 10 days of 24/7 video recording. This option could be an “add-on” through Google One.
When you switch your Nest Aware over to Google One, it may cancel your current Nest Aware subscription. The code mentions contacting support to make sure the cancellation goes through fully and you get any refunds owed.
It’s not clear yet which Google One subscription plans will include Nest Aware. The pricier $19.99 per month AI Premium plan seems most likely. Nest Aware would make that plan an even better value. We’ll have to wait for more details from Google about this new subscription bundle coming to Google One and Nest devices!
