Google Tests Recipes Directly in Search with “Quick View”

Google is working on another tool to keep you on its search results page. In addition to pulling information from a variety of sources, AI Overviews’ latest feature focuses specifically on recipe blogs.

Now when searching for recipes, some users see a “Quick View” button. Tapping it shows the full recipe right there – ingredients, instructions, photos and all. No need to visit the blog it came from!

In one example screenshot, searching for “basil pesto” displays a recipe straight from the Love and Lemons blog. Google says they’re partnering with “a few creators” but didn’t name names.

Love and Lemons didn’t comment but recipe blogs rely on Google traffic. If their recipes show up in Search before the blog itself, will people still visit?

Google’s playing with “New Ways To Share High Quality Recipes” according to their statement. But keeping clicks internal could hugely impact blogs. They already cram pages full of extras hoping to rank better in Search results.

With handy recipes right in Google, will cooks still bother clicking through to blogs at all? Google’s latest “Quick Cooking Through Search” test keeps foodies fed without leaving its pages behind.
