Spectrum has not had an easy time lately. When a program that helped people pay less ended, many customers could no longer afford Spectrum. This caused lots of complaints about prices that changed too much. To stop customers from going to other companies, Spectrum made big changes to make things simpler and cheaper.
Spectrum’s internet plans will now start faster at 500 megabits per second (Mbps). Some places can get speeds up to 1,000 Mbps (1 gigabit). Their basic plan costs $50 each month. The faster plan is around $70 each month and comes with free WiFi. Before, you had to pay extra for WiFi or use your own router.
Spectrum also wants you to add their TV or mobile phone plans. If you get TV or two mobile lines for $40 each, your internet will cost way less. The basic plan drops to only $30 each month. The faster 1 gigabit plan goes down to $40 each month.
Spectrum promises to do better too. They say service disruptions will be fixed faster now with more updates. Your price is locked in for three years with these bundles, unlike normal plans that rise in cost after one year. This simple bundle means you don’t have to worry about negotiating prices yearly.
Should you get a Spectrum mobile bundle? It depends on a few things:
- Are you ok with a prepaid mobile plan instead of a contract?
- Do you need special features from other carriers?
- Does Verizon wireless service work well where you live?
The bundle could save you money if you’re already using another company that uses Verizon’s towers. But those with Verizon or other major carriers may not want to switch. Home internet from those companies may also be cheaper if you have good coverage.
