Sony Xperia Z3 was crafted to be ‘life-proof’ as Sony puts it. This is because it is not only water and dust resistant, but also because it can handle the insane life of hustle of any mega city like Lagos in Nigeria, or New York in the USA.
Design
With all the buttons on the right side of the phone, it seems built to favor the right-handed person but you can easily enjoy it as a left-handed person also by simply rotating the phone to use upside down.
The power button is at the base while the volume and camera buttons are placed at the center side to ensure that these actions are the easiest to enjoy, The SIM port is also at the top side of the phone’s right side making every other side smooth and well protected. This model I believe was adopted to ensure that the waterproof level of the phone is at its best.
The material used in the Xperia Z series by Sony has stayed the same and is not any different as the Z3 is with an aluminum and glass finish.
The front-facing speakers at the upper and lower part of the phone help to better enjoy gaming or video experience especially because at that point they will be as left and right speakers (in landscape mode).
It has a thickness of 7.3mm and weighs just 152g.
Display
The 5.2-inch screen has a Live color LED to ensure you get real-life color every time you stare at the screen. The 424 PPI level gives you a really sharp and lovely video to help you enjoy life even much more.
The resolution of the display is definitely in full HD as you would expect while the screen brightness is the highest that you have ever seen since you have been holding smartphones. This will provide comfortable visibility in sunlight.
The intuitive contrast enhancement technology automatically sets contrast levels to its best given the amount of light per time and this definitely sets the Z3 apart.
The truth about the Z3 is this when it gets to the display section, you only expect the best from the company that owns BRAVIA tech and that is exactly what you will be getting, the best as the X-reality mobile feature helps to reproduce pixels, provide texture and outline improvement, color and contrast enhancement and finally image noise reduction.

Hardware and Storage
The phone ships with the most powerful quad-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 801 processor that has an impressive max clock speed of 2.5 GHz. The cores are actually powered independently to ensure that the battery doesn’t drain unnecessarily. With this, you will be able to surf the web at lightning-fast speeds.
The RAM is at 3GB. You will not notice any lag in gaming and app usage.
The internal storage is about 12GB but allows you to use external storage of up to 128GB and I strongly recommend that you use at least a 64GB MicroSD card so you can enjoy all that the device has to offer.
The battery has a capacity of 3100mAh with Sony emphasizing that it can take you on for up to two days. The battery stamina mode is also said to provide up to 14% more battery life as well as no major drop in performance.
Camera and OS
Three things about the pictures taken from a Sony Xperia Z3 are clear and crisp image quality, low-light excellence, and sharp close-ups. This might as well be because Sony is also one of the leading companies in Camera technology and this makes me wonder why they do not sell as much as Apple or Samsung.
The camera sensor supports ISO levels of up to 12800 which is the highest in any smartphone today.
Now let’s hit the nail on the head. You can shoot a video of up to 4k cinema quality.
It ships with Android 5.1 and going into the detail of this will probably get you overly excited but let me add this. It comes with audio clarity technology.
