Sony Vaio Z Canvas – the enchanted tablet PC

Sony Vaio Z Canvas
I have been reading all the reviews and what is about the Sony VAIO Z canvas and to be honest, I have never been this intrigued by any device in my life.

Design

First things first. The VAIO Z has creativity unleashed at the most insane levels and just like there are some places where you would naturally think unlimited, the Z canvas was definitely created to allow you to squeeze out every bit of imaginative conceptualization that you are gifted with and make them so easy to put down.

The reason why the design is great is simple. It was defined by professional feedback and at this level, nothing can ever go wrong. You leave the rank of guessing what we like to know what we would love and that’s why all we have heard from the globe is nothing but awesome about this out-of-the-world gadget.

The strength of the VAIO Z is commendable as it is made from an Aluminium alloy cut body to ensure that it is not only durable but also stylish.

The wow factor however is the presence of a six-sided tempered glass system to ensure that the device can serve you for a longer period as it is also shock resistant.

About the ports, it has the following:
  • USB 3.0
  • SD memory card reader
  • mini DisplayPort
  • HDMI output
  • LAN (RJ45) port

Display

The screen is actually a 12.3″ and a resolution of 2560 x 1704 pixels. However, thanks to the IPS technology, the viewing angle range is very sweet.

The screen has 95% coverage of the Adobe RGB spectrum meaning that you are as close to awesome as you can get since most creatives use at least one of the Adobe packages (while every other person at least uses reader and flash 😉 ).

Hardware and Storage

This is the part that probably intrigues me the most and I will start with the battery-powered stylus which uses a unique optical resin between the LCD and glass that mimics the relationship between pen and paper making users feel more naturalized. The pen has two buttons for opening One Note and clipping tools.

The main part of the hardware is always the processor and Sony has done the insane by placing an Intel® Core™ i7 processor and Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 5200 GPU into the VAIO Z Canvas. Like that was not enough, you get 16GB of RAM and up to 1GB of internal storage on an SSD. The least storage you can actually get is 256GB.

Sony claims that the battery can last up to seven hours and there’s no way on earth that I can prove that since I do not have one.

Software and Camera

The tablet PC ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit  and if you want to know more about windows 10, you probably should check any of my posts on Windows 10 but I will recommend 10 reasons for windows 10.

The front camera is a 1MP camera while the back camera is an 8MP.
