Earlier this year, Samsung launched Galaxy AI features on its Galaxy S24 series, including generative photo editing and summarizing functionality. Apparently, iPhones will inspire the next Galaxy AI addition.
Samsung is testing a notification summary feature on a recent version of its operating system, One UI 7. This new “AI notification” feature groups related alerts from the same app. For example, it would summarize multiple missed calls or unread texts from a contact.
The notification summary is one of the popular features available on iPhones. Apple calls it part of “Apple Intelligence” and it works with almost any app. It makes it quicker and easier for iPhone users to review their alerts.
This new Galaxy feature is only available in Korean, but Samsung will likely add more languages before One UI 7 officially launches. Not all Galaxy models will support AI notification either only higher-end newer Samsung flagships at first.
In addition to notification summaries, One UI 7 will offer other upgrades too. The software update splits notifications and quick settings for better visibility. It also changes app icons, updates the camera interface, and adds a “Dynamic Island” clone feature found on recent iPhones.
