Samsung Galaxy A8 Review

OS Version

The Galaxy A8 just became available in China yesterday and I thought to review it since it is a really great device and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop

The beauty of the phone is that it is so thin that even with a protective casing, it will still be thinner than some phones. This is simply because it’s the thinnest phone ever from Samsung

Display

The Galaxy A8 has a 5.7″ screen, which is 0.6″ larger than the Samsung Galaxy S6 which I reviewed yesterday.

The screen has a resolution of 1,920 pixels by 1,080 pixels but with a 388 dpi.

Sensor

The phone has an Ambient Light Sensor, a Multi touch, Accelerometer, Digital Compass, Fingerprint ID, GPS and a proximity sensor

Battery Life

The phone hosts a 3,050 mAh battery which seems to me to be pretty sensible and will make me ask you to consider getting one.

Processor and Memory

The Galaxy A8 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 system on a chip. Its CPU runs at 1.5 GHz.

2 GB of RAM means you can enjoy the life of your head with this device as you will probably never be in the scenario called low memory.

Storage

The base model of the Galaxy A8 has 16 GB of internal storage, which is a modest amount for storing an operating system along with music, pictures, and video. Fortunately, you can cheaply expand its storage by as much as 128 GB with a microSD card.

Camera

The Galaxy A8 has a 16 megapixel rear (primary) cameraand a 5 megapixel front camera. The options that come with the camera include LED Flash, Autofocus, Burst Mode, Digital Zoom, Face Detection, Geo-tagging, Gesture Shot, the beautiful HDR Capture, Panorama, Smile Detection (great for selfies) and Touch Focus.
