Under Elon Musk, Twitter has had some issues. This has made other social networks like Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon more popular. But it also means people have to post in more places. Some entrepreneurs are making apps to help with this.
One app is Openvibe. It lets you see posts from different networks together. And it lets you post to multiple networks at once. Before it only worked for Mastodon, Nostr and Bluesky. Now it also works for Threads, which is Instagram’s rival to Twitter.
The founder of Openvibe, Matej Svancer, wants to make the different social networks easier to use. His app shows you one combined feed of posts from all your networks. You can also follow people and see suggestions across the networks in one place.
Openvibe just added support for Threads. Threads is still new, so the app does not use all its features yet. But Openvibe tries to make Threads simple to use. Some people had trouble getting Threads to work at first. But Openvibe posted tips to fix problems. When I tested it, adding Threads was easy.
The Openvibe app is free to download for iPhone and Android phones. Later, Matej wants to make a desktop version too. To make money, Openvibe may start charging a small fee for extra features. But for now it does not show ads or cost anything to use.
