New App Makes It Easier Than Ever to Move From Google Photos to iCloud

Together, Google and Apple have launched a new tool that should make migrating photos from Google Photos to iCloud Photos easier. As it turns out, the two tech giants did something similar in 2021 by launching a tool that transferred iCloud Photos to Google Photos. This new app will allow you to easily shift your photo collections between the two services.

The tech companies worked through the Data Transfer Project to build this app. They made sure personal photos stayed safe and sound when moving from one service to another. Soon, you’ll be able to download the app to shift pictures between Google Photos and iCloud Photos with just a few taps.

The app is rolling out over the next week for both Android and iOS devices. Google and Apple’s help pages give instructions on how to use it. You can expect the transfer to take a few hours to a few days based on how many photos you have. Apple will send you an email once the process is done. Your moved photos will go into a special “Import from Google” album in Photos. If you want the copies on Google Photos deleted too, you’ll need to remove them yourself afterwards.

This new app makes it quick and painless to update where you store treasured photos of family and friends. No more complicated workarounds – just simple switching between services. The days of struggling to port pictures between Google and Apple ecosystems are coming to an end thanks to this partnership. Download the transfer tool soon to easily manage your memories across devices.
