Motorola has recently confirmed that Motorola Moto G4 Play will get Android 7, Nougat, in the month of June.
The Moto G4 series has three devices in it’s roll, including Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play. While Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus both got the Android Nougat updates in March of this year (2017), the last member of the series had been left out in the cold until this announcement.
This delay resonates with the fact that Moto G4 Play is the cheapest in the series, and came out three months after the other two. It is only logical that the update should also wait about three months for it to be released, if this plays well, it might nudge owners of the MotoG4 Play to choose to upgrade to more expensive variants of a series in the future, since it will mean that they will always get priority upgrades.
If you own a Moto G4 Play, you should have some sort of happiness that your upgrade to Android Nougat awaits.
