Bleeping Computer reports that Microsoft has stopped offering Windows 11 version 24H2 updates on PCs running certain Ubisoft games. The company took action following complaints that the new Windows update caused crashes in Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed games.

Microsoft confirmed the issue through a status update, explaining they are currently working with Ubisoft to resolve the problem. Until then, Microsoft advises users not to manually install the Windows 11 24H2 update.

The gaming issues experienced are quite serious. Some games becoming unresponsive at startup or problems are faced during loading screens, For some, the game crashes during gameplay.

While Ubisoft has released a temporary fix for Star Wars Outlaws, Microsoft warns that some performance issues might still occur. The company has implemented a “compatibility hold” to prevent further problems while working on a permanent solution.
