LG G4 Review

The LG G4 is a revolutionary phone with probably the best camera in a smartphone ever. You might want to argue that when you need great pictures you should get a professional camera but truth you will have to agree that in this world where there are lots of pictures posted daily, you will need to have a great smartphone that has a great camera and you can as well need an LG G(reat)4.

Design

The conceptualization of this phone’s design is based on three important things which are ergonomics, timelessness, and visual excellence. You have four body options to choose from depending on your style and these are genuine leather, metallic, and ceramic craft.

The battery is removable and has an infrared sensor which is pretty amazing as most devices have been without one in a long while. This is handy when you want to use your phone as a remote control.

Display

In summary, the phone is great on three things which are brightness, contrast, and color range.

The phone has a 5.5″ IPS display screen and the experience is immense. LG refers to this as quantum technology which produces accurate color as well as an increased level of brightness to ensure that the screens display is more visible when outdoor and it’s sunny.

In case you don’t know, contrast is the measure of the range between light and dark and an increased contrast means more detail. The 98% color space of the DCI standard (a Hollywood class) now means you can enjoy movie theatre color space.

The LG G4 is a Quad HD resolution phone which is higher than the well celebrated iPhone 6s plus.

Hardware and Storage

A 3000mAh battery, support of up to 2TB of external storage, and a Qualcomm 800-series processor makes this device stand out.

The processor is a 64-bit 1.8Gz Hexacore and an Adreno 418 GPU as this helps you to multi-task games, apps as well as multimedia. The removable and long-lasting battery is good enough but the smart power save mode even makes it way better as it can turn off some apps at a certain battery level.

The internal storage is 32GB but this can be easily expanded if you want more but I guess that would do for me.

Camera and OS

The camera has a manual mode feature that will be respected by photographers especially when they can also capture pictures in uncompressed formats. The lens is with an f/1.8 aperture has an exceptionally large aperture which is very good for low light conditions. The back camera is a 16MP one with optical image stabilization with laser autofocus.

When it comes to video recording, you can shoot ultra HD videos with this device while the front camera is 8MP and has selfie light functionality that will allow your to take clearer photos with the soft light bouncing on your face.

It ships with an android lollipop and if you do not like the UI, consider an alternate home replacement app.

The smart notice feature is very helpful and can make your day more productive giving you the most relevant notifications.
