Yes you heard it. I feel proud that iOS7 is going to be released on my birthday but the truth is if you are using an apple device, you can upgrade right now. Firstly I have to say I got this while checking lifehacker.com
So let’s do this
Before you do anything, back up your iDevice with iTunes. This is not a must but if you fear loosing you files please do because I’m not going to be responsible for anything.
Download iOS7 for your device by clicking any of the links below. Please be fast about that as I can’t be sure it will be there for long.
- iPhone 4 (GSM)
- iPhone 4 (GSM Rev. A)
- iPhone 4 (CDMA)
- iPhone 4S
- iPhone 5 (Model A1428)
- iPhone 5 (Model A1429)
- iPad 2 (Wi-Fi)
- iPad 2 (Rev. A)
- iPad 2 (Wi-Fi + GSM)
- iPad 2 (Wi-Fi + CDMA)
- iPad 3 (Wi-Fi)
- iPad 3 (Wi-Fi + GSM)
- iPad 3 (Wi-Fi + CDMA)
- iPad 4 (Wi-Fi)
- iPad 4 (Wi-Fi + GSM)
- iPad 4 (Wi-Fi + CDMA)
- iPad mini (Wi-Fi)
- iPad mini (Wi-Fi + GSM)
- iPad mini (Wi-Fi + CDMA)
- iPod touch (5th Generation)
- iTunes 11.1 Beta
Install this version of iTunes to continue as I believe your present version of iTunes may not work with iOS7
- Open
up the disk image (.dmg) and find the iPhone Software Update file
(.ipsw) for your device. Drag it to the desktop, or a folder of your
choosing. (Windows users will need a tool like 7-Zip to do this, and will need to open the .hfs inside the .dmg as well - Open iTunes and connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, to your computer.
- If your device isn’t automatically selected in iTunes, select it and go to the “Summary” tab.
- Hold
down the option key (OS X) or the shift key (Windows) and click the
Restore button. Browse to the .ipsw file you downloaded, select it, and
wait for the update to finish. - If necessary, restore your device from backup and sync with iTunes.
That’s all pal. Congrats.
NB: I don’t own an iPhone and if you wish to gimme one for my birthday mention me @cuulgeek *smiles*
