Google Photos can now give TikTok a run for its money! The popular photo app just got a big upgrade that makes editing videos much easier and smarter. The new tools use artificial intelligence, or AI, to help you turn average videos into top-notch shared content.
What’s new in the video editor? Well, the editor interface is simpler now. The most used tools like precise cutting, speed adjustment, and auto enhancement are front and center. You can also easily mute sound with one tap.
But where Google Photos really stands out is the AI features. New “video presets” let AI handle trimming clips, adjusting lighting, speed effects, and more. Google says these presets will give your videos that professional look with just a few taps. Things like object tracking and slow motion are built right in.
How is it different than before? The old video editor was basic. You could trim and stabilize but not much else. There were no handy-speed or AI tools. Most people turned to TikTok or Instagram for creative control. Now Google Photos can do everything those apps can and more.
The update isn’t fully rolled out yet so some features may still be missing. We don’t know if parts of the clips can be edited individually. It also remains to be seen how well the AI presets perform. But this update makes Google Photos a true video powerhouse on par with other popular editing platforms.
