Google has recently added Video Stabilization to its newest update of the Photos App and this is admirable because lots of videos recorded by phone are often shaky and are better enjoyed when they are played back as stabilized video.

You can trust that Google’s stabilization feature will be top-notch because it has been implementing video stabilization on YouTube for years and it has been good enough for the most part.

To use the video stabilization feature, follow the steps below:

  • Update your Google Photos app to the latest version on Android or iPhone
  • Click the pen icon while viewing a video within the app
  • Tap the new Stabilize button right next to “Rotate.”

A progress bar will pop up to show you how long you have to wait for your video to complete the stabilization process. The process takes place locally and the length of time you have to wait depends on file sized.

Once the process is done, you will see the white stabilize text turn blue with the text changed to “stabilized”

Once you try out the feature, let me know what you think.
