Fortnite Maker Epic Games Launches New App Store

The maker of Fortnite, Epic Games, launched its rival iOS app store in the European Union on Friday. Globally, the Epic Games Store will also be available on Android. This new store gives players more options for downloading games.

Epic Games has started its new store with popular games like Fortnite, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Fall Guys. More developers will add their games to the Epic Games Store soon. The store is also available now on a mobile app called AltStore PAL that lets you download games for free.

In the future, Epic Games wants to bring its games to other mobile app stores on iOS and Android too, like Aptoide and ONE Store. Fortnite is coming back to iPhones for the first time in over 4 years! Epic and Apple had been in a big legal battle during this time.

New laws from Europe forced Apple to open up the App Store more. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said this is good for both players and developers. He said it’s great that people in Europe can now use the Epic Games Store on their iPhones. Android users worldwide will also benefit.

Epic knows installing the new store may be tricky at first. Both Apple and Google make it hard to install apps from outside their regular app stores. But Epic posted guide videos to help users add the Epic Games Store on iOS and Android step-by-step.
