Through its Doodles, occasional UI changes, or added features, Google tries to keep its search engine fresh and interesting. Easter eggs are also one of the ways the company does this. As a matter of fact, a new Easter egg has appeared, celebrating the new Wicked musical.
When you search for “Wicked” on Google, either on your desktop or mobile device, you’ll see a witch hat in a green circle appear at the bottom of the screen. Clicking or tapping on the circle will cause a green light to appear, and the search results will start floating upward like bubbles rising from a cauldron. You’ll also hear Idina Menzel singing songs from the Wicked album, including “Defying Gravity.”
This Easter egg is a fun way for Google to promote the new Wicked movie. The floating search results and musical accompaniment create a whimsical, magical experience that fans of the musical are sure to enjoy.
If you want to disable the Easter egg, you can simply click or tap on the X icon, and everything will go back to normal. But be sure to check it out before it’s gone, as these types of Easter eggs don’t usually stick around forever.
