In a surprise move last week, Elon Musk’s social media site X said it will obey Brazilian court orders. This means the ban on X in Brazil may end!
For a few weeks, Brazil blocked X because some accounts broke rules about respect. The court wanted some accounts removed. Elon Musk really did not like this and said people should have free talk.
But then X got new lawyers in Brazil. On Friday, the lawyers told the court X will now do what judges say. They took down the accounts the court named. X also paid fines andgot a new contact person in Brazil.
The Supreme Court saw that X will obey now. They gave X 5 days to show proof. If X sends this, Brazilians may be able to use X again soon!
This is different than what Elon Musk said before. He wanted to keep “free talk” everywhere. But obeying the Brazilian judges might let the ban on X go away. Some fans in Brazil are probably happy X will cooperate with the rules there now.
We will have to wait and see what proof X gives the Supreme Court. But it looks like Brazilian X users could get their accounts back before too long! Only time will tell if X stays legal to use in Brazil from now on.
