Apple spent a lot of money developing the Vision Pro, which accounts for the device’s high price. Despite sales exceeding expectations, the company has had a difficult time recouping development costs. Using the technology from the Vision Pro, the company wants to make more products to recoup its investment.
Reports say Apple is working on at least four new Vision-powered gadgets. Smart glasses rivalling Ray-Ban’s may arrive in 2027. AirPods with built-in cameras are also possible.
By replicating the Vision Pro’s ability to visually understand surroundings, Apple hopes products like “Apple Sights” glasses and “EyesPod” earbuds can leverage the headset’s expensive development.
A basic Vision device sans some key features may debut early next year at around $2,000. And an upgraded Vision Pro 2 is scheduled for 2026 with a faster chip.
It seems Apple is pushing hard to “Profit From Its Pioneering Vision Wearable”. New smart spectacles and image-capturing headphones could help offset the multi-billion dollar budget if all goes to plan.
