Apple Maps Comes to the Web to Take on Google Maps

Apple Maps is now available on the web via a public beta, which means you can access it directly from your browser. As a result of the launch, Apple Maps will compete directly with Google Maps, which has been available on the web for some time. Apple Maps works pretty much the same way on the internet as the app on your phone. You can get directions for driving or walking, see information and order food from businesses, and read reviews and guides about places.

For now, Apple Maps on the Web is available in English and works on Mac and iPad computers using Safari and Chrome browsers. It also works on Windows PCs using Chrome and Edge browsers. Apple plans to add more languages and make it work on more devices later. Developers can also link to Apple Maps on their websites, letting users get directions or see place details.

Apple Maps first launched 12 years ago when the iPhone came out. Now by putting it on the internet, more people can use it. This helps Apple Maps challenge Google Maps, which many people currently use the most for maps online. In the coming months, Apple will add extra features like 360-degree street view to the web version.
