It wasn’t until recently that Spotify users were able to interact with podcast hosts. Comments and insights would have to be shared via social media platforms. However, Spotify’s recent update is changing that. Spotify started adding a comments section so creators and listeners can chat directly on the app.
Podcasters and fans have wanted a way to discuss shows through Spotify for a long time. With comments, they can easily connect without leaving the platform. Soon, you’ll see a comments box below episodes where you can type your thoughts. Creators can choose whether to allow commenting for all shows or select episodes.
All comments must be approved by the host before appearing publicly. This gives them control over inappropriate content. Listeners can see what others said once the podcaster approves comments. Creators can manage everything using the Spotify for Podcasters app too.
Rolling out over the next month, comments started this week for select podcasts. By next month everyone on Spotify will be able to join conversations. It provides an easy new way to provide feedback and spark discussions within the Spotify community. Listen and engage more closely than ever before thanks to this long awaited change.
