Samsung is investing heavily in artificial intelligence features and experiences to set its phones apart from its competitors. Besides the AI features introduced earlier this year, the company has confirmed it is exploring new form factors for AI-powered devices that would combine large screens with portability. It seems this is just the beginning of Samsung’s AI endeavours.
The tech giant is reportedly working on an AI feature that lets you use your phone without going into the Settings menu at all. It can predict settings changes to things like the keyboard and camera based on how you use the phone.
Currently, Bixby can adjust some settings of voice commands. But this would make changes automatically based on your behaviour over time.
If done right, AI could control the whole phone experience without any manual options. But rushing incomplete AI also causes many issues. Let’s hope Samsung takes the time to perfect it.
Will “settings-free” smartphones deliver a smooth experience or introduce new frustrations? Only time will tell with Samsung’s ambitious AI plans.
